Oh god. You KNOW what happens when the philosopher comes back to the depths of the cave from the light above. He tries to rattle the chains of those in the cave and they KILL him. This is one of the central ideas of the cave allegory, probably the most elementary of all of Plato's lessons in the Republic.

Hmm.. I believe you have the wrong list, indeed. This is not the "Intelligent" Dance Music List, but the "Intelligent Dance Music" List. It may seem like mere semantics, but we make no claim that list-members are intelligent, merely that music discussed is. And actually, I don't even think we're making the claim that the music is intelligent. I believe the idea is that, relative to most other tripe doled out to us by the media and the entertainment industry, the stuff we like and talk about here is incredibly smart. But as for your "********INTELLIGENT******** DANCE MUSIC LIST," good luck finding one. I think the V/VM guys might be able to point you in the right direction if you email the details of your tragic story to them. Hmm. I wonder what Alex Reynolds take on this situation is... Reuterz better be on the scene soon. I'm still waiting for him to top the "mp3 d00dz" post. rjck./_ mailto:cardhore@juno ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Book 7 of the Republic... "Now imagine what would happen if he went down again to take his former seat in the Cave...He might be required once more to deliver his opinions on those shadows, in competition with the prisoners who had never been released...They would laugh at him and say that he had gone up only to come back with his sight ruined...If they could lay hands on the man who was trying to set them free and lead them up, they would kill him." Poor philosopher WhiteCalx@aol.com has tried to set us free with his knowledge of the Good, or love, or whatever. And we laugh at him, and kill him. Not that there's anything wrong with that, since 'tis only a humorous little squabble over an admittedly tasteless, but playful antic of Kid606. but anyway. back to IDM... rjck./_ mailto:cardhore@juno ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. yes, but this is not what is considered 'the allegory of the cave.' the allegory of the cave has to do with forms and the differences between appearance and reality. :: wells oliver / s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu :: 'try to smile as they devour our youth'

I have half a mind to send you a picture of a young girl covered in bruises with a mouthful of blood crying as she's being raped, you insolent young man. rjck./_ mailto:cardhore@juno ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
