Hi there I'm looking to expanding my musical horizons a bit with some quality artist/label compilations-- a lot of really interesting sounding ones have been mentioned lately on the list. Below is a sketchy recollection of some that have been mentioned.. could some of the resident experts fill in any missing/incomplete details and suggest others worth looking for? The list below indicates the kind of music sought.. well-done stuff that is generally off the beaten Warp/Rephlex path a bit.. studio 1 comp (mike ink, possibly on profane) carpet bomb comp (is that the name or label?) plug research comp (called 'development'?) lucky kitchen (I think this is) 'music for nonexistent video games' the day my favorite insect died (payola related) thule - 'fishcake' I already have the Basic Channel and M comps as well as most of the Chain Reaction compilation CDs. Have Skampler, too. Any other worthy comps of quality labels/artists? Thanks-! - Brad

(Need some help with this, actually: the version of this that I picked up has a second CD, but there's not a tracklisting for it in sight.) another excellent comp, probably mentioned at one time or another: "Derailed Presents Fallout" a collection of singles from Leaf records tracklisting: sons of silence: it's a bloodbath a small good thing: cooling system (edit) ronnie & clyde: chicken dinner luger: pass agent sons of silence: silence go boom! four tet: field witchman: 4am on point twisted science: bleeder sons of silence: vibraslap (65 elements) and the 16-minute piece de resistance: boymerang: the don highly recommended. tracks all gravitate toward downtempo/D&B/ambient fusion. sr -- sd
