okay, i vaguely know the lucky kitchen stuff.. but who is jake mandell? wire said "phoenecia's jake mandell" in their article on the skam/vvm folk.. this is not correct is it? i thought phoenecia was just josh and rom... is there a third? also, the new mike dred and peter green has a track that talks about particles.. Wire was wrong. Jake Mandell is Jake Mandell. He lives in Illinois or Minnesota or something. As far as i know he's not involved with Phoenecia but Phoenecia did do a remix for his Midwest ep on Lucky Kitchen and I believe that Phoenecia is also supposed to do another remix on his upcoming 12" on his own PrimeDeep record label. i beleive jake is from madison, wisconsin if i'm not mistaken. to the best of my knowledge, he did not contribute at all to any of the schematic phonecia stuff, and the collaboration is limited to the remix(es). NP: jake mandell: bottombracket peeeeeeece,

Nope, whoever wrote the Wire piece got it wrong. Probably got confused by the fact that there's a Phonecia remix on Mandell's "Midwest" CDEP, recently released on Lunky Kitchen in an insanely limited edition (300 copies, I think). Too bad it's so limited, 'cause it's fucking great, some of the best American IDM I've heard. Not quite so good but still pretty damn fine is Mandell's previous release, a 12" EP on his own PrimeDeep label. You can find out more at www.primedeep.com Greg
