From a Leaf email newsletter a while back, I extracted some info which I summarized as the following for my releases page: Speedranch & Jansky Noise/Various - Welcome to Execrate DJ Tool 12" [includes tracks not on the upcoming CD by Jega, Stock Hausen & Walkman, V/Vm and more, plus a side of noises, loops and locked grooves] And then I got a white label in the mail yesterday. I haven't yet been able to listen to it, but the information included is really vague - it just has a sticker crediting the first side to Speedranch ^ Jansky Noise, and lists three tracks on the second side, but just by artist name, no track titles. Anyway, once I've given it a listen, I'll file a report. The release date is November 30th by the way (originally supposed to be the 16th - I'll have to update that on the release page). Greg

this ought to be pretty interesting... info on the site on v/vm that i do on this and maybe i'll even plow through the idm archives and dig up the reviews on the events (or perhaps this was something that diskono had sent out to folks, can't recall for sure) sounds excellent all around. good concept, one that is starting to catch on... Peter Stone (Xorcist... sort of industrial synth stuff) recently made available 2xcd worth of mp3s of a new project he's done, seen a few noise bands doing this (although noise doesn't always translate well :) and so on...

this ought to be good! the 6x12" is supposed to have quite a bit more in the way of electronic artists that might get discussed here, if that helps. know the v/vm mix is available on the cd though.

wouldn't it be a trip to see a single with a v/vm mix in a chain store? maybe just me, but that really floats my boat :) sort of like watching the TOPY transmission videos and reading about what they are intended to be then seeing PTV doing a car commercial, except completely different.... brap@sonic.net icq_12645306 http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ coming sooner than later: sfwd0004 - pre-mil·len·ni·um soundscapes 12" our future has never been so frightening: http://williamshatner.com/

Well, some are supposedly done. They are each hand made & one of a kind & are therefore going slowly. To get one, you had to tell V/Vm you wanted one back several months ago & then you get told when yours is done. I think they're all supposed to be done before the end of the year or somewhere thereabouts. Marc Poirier On Thu, 29 Oct 1998, ~(({[Endemic~Distortion]}))~ wrote:

updated the vvm info on the 'unofficial yet well groomed with official info' site last week... here's whats up (hopefully :)) >>>> MILD MAN JAN }}}} Apologies to the people who confirmed an interest in the above product. The hand crafted boxes were expected around May time, but due to technical difficulties time has long since passed us by. We are however now in a position to reveal that the first 30 boxes are very near completion (with the rest following shortly behind). People will be contacted when their particular box is ready for purchase. The first boxes are expected at H.Q. next week, so let the fun commence................. brap@sonic.net icq_12645306 http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ coming sooner than later: sfwd0004 - pre-mil·len·ni·um soundscapes 12" our future has never been so frightening: http://williamshatner.com/
