I've had a CD-R of this record for a couple of months now, and it's damn fine. Just today, I got the real thing in the mail from Mindfield, the label putting it out. "Official" release date is next Monday. Greg

Um... good sound. :) I'm still formulating a proper review for a magazine that I write for, so once I've got my thoughts jotted down, I'll post something to the list. Off the top of my head, though, I'd say that it's simply a solid electronic record with some classic IDM touches. More soon. Greg

Ooh, I get to play Lance! Woo hoo! :) Here's a Mindfield discography (with descriptions from the Mindfield website): Mourning Cloak - "In Dreams You See..." (Mindfield MINDCD01) * experimental psychadelic folk musik [I've heard this, it's in the vein of Current 93 and other World Serpent bands] The Swelling Soul - "Water Comes Rushing In" CD (Mindfield MINDCD02) * orchestral darkwave Burning Rome - "Senseless" CD (Mindfield MINDCD03) * experimental electronica/IDM 6K - "Mythology" 12" EP (Mindfield/Dose DOSEEP5399) * experimental dance music/IDM Craig Carlton - "Sputnik 12" EP (Mindfield/Dose DOSEEP5397) Craig Carlton - "Stellar Interiors" CD (Mindfield/Dose DOSECD01) * experimental electronica/IDM Analog Idolatry - "Possessor" 12" EP (Mindfield/Evil Bro EVILEP93044) * dancefloor techno/house Burning Rome is Mark Kolmar from Chicago. The label is based in York, PA, and the guy behind it (Walt Miller) also does a great little magazine called FAQT. Info on all of this at http://www.msgp.com/mindfield Greg

damn, i was beaten to it. yeah, central pa's claim to IDM fame. all of an hour away from my house. walt's a fun guy - great sense of humour. his laibach interview is mucho funny. and since he made the 'zine bigger, you can actually read it! * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com ##:# i nostri sogni sono sempre presenti

Hello, Mark Kolmar from Burning Rome here.... Imagine my surprise at seeing several people from 3 or 4 countries discussing what I do and where I live. It is somewhat of a frightening honor. If descriptions were a bit vague, the main reason could be the music is difficult to categorize. I suppose it covers a lot of territory as well. Much of the time I do not notice where one style ends and another begins. Two tracks from the _Senseless_ CD are available as "FM-quality" MP3 files (see .sig for the URL). The files are about 4MB each. Any good shop will be able to order _Senseless_ now through Dutch East India or Carrot Top. (Mindfield is working on more distribution, particularly for the UK, Europe, and elsewhere.) Hope you enjoy the music, and thanks for your support. I will continue to add to the backlog in the meantime. --Mark __ Available now: SENSELESS CD on Mindfield Records MindCD03 Cathartium 14 < Distributed by Dutch East India Trading and Carrot Top Distribution > < http://www.xnet.com/~mkolmar/BurningRome > < MP3 & RealAudio tracks >
