*Consumed* Seldom - and all too long ago - have I been SO swept away by a new album that it's been a near spiritual experience - but listening to Plastikman's Consumed last night all alone in the dark was one such Musical Moment. All I can say is ::: this is WONDERFUL >!< The last thing of his I've got is the Sickness EP which is so much more hectic and neurotic, that I wasn't at all sure what to expect - but Consumed is blissful deep bassy minimalism without a moment's boredom. Sorry to chime in so late on this one - I've seen it discussed here some while back >>> but it's only just filtered through to the bottom of Afrika. Happily so and I feel enriched for it. I *

i'm not very smart and never bought a copy for myself, just for a friend's birthday. gotta fix that, the list of must buy's is getting longer. i'd also recommend you also keep an eye out for the thomas brinkmann cd - i think it's called concept 1 vr or something like that. it's equally wonderful imho. apparently mr. brinkmann is visiting the montreal area soon;i sure wish a nw promoter would drag him to the left! course, that goes for hawtin, too... /me sighs heavily s. ps: fyi for any air fans - they opened their tour here in seattle on sunday. i wasn't sure what to expect & was pleasantly surprised. make sure you check them out in your city, they put on a good show. The Concept 1 vr cd is actually a Richie Hawtin cd remixed/reconstructed entirely by Thomas Brinkmann. And I second Sally's recommendation of it. It will easily be one of my top 5 releases of '98. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that thomas brinkmann will be doing a live performance here in cleveland or somewhere close so i can see him work his reconstructive magic. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
