Isn't that obvious when you listen to Can's "Tago Mago" or "Ege Bamyasi"? I think the track 'Fools Gold' was ripped off from may have been 'Vitamin C'. If into Can et al., check -> http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb/krautrock/ Marquis de pHinn * the webmaster of pHinnWeb - the old skool, the nu skool * * and the pHuture skool of Finnish electronic music * * trerra@uta.fi | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb * everything you read / may not be true / look inside your soul / listen to your heart / it's only a mirage [perception, ur]

it's from bobby bird's "hot pants/i'm coming", one of the classic hip hop breaks. check big daddy kane's "RAW" for an earlier appearance. the stone roses added that funky-ass tambourine though. unless can were secretely sampling bobby bird too... rj. np: the funk phenomena

They were talking about the bass line, not the break - but, yeah, that beat's pretty excellent too. shit, my bad. sorry for cutting in uninvited, can-headz. so they nabbed that bassline, eh? i don't really know can, but i never would have thought that they had so much funk. next someone will tell me that the guitar is from ry cooder or some shit. r.j. np: moodymann black mahogany (is it me or is that break from joy by isaac hayes?)

so grooverider is going to remix fools gold. they're releasing it AGAIN? ok it's a good tune (got the original 12") but one rerelease was enough, wasn't it? 'course, a guy called gerald did a kickin' remix last time... just listened to grooveriders album, it's good if a bit to long at 2 hours. if they do it right when they compress it to a single cd it'll be massive! hs ______________________ who are "they" anyway?
