"Deep Concentration" is OK, but the Return of the DJ comps pretty much smoke it. the Deep Concentration CD does come with a CD rom that has a really stupid "virtual DJ" program (or something like that, I remeber uninstalling it 5 minutes after I loaded it for the first time.) I just got a really good DJ record a few weeks ago, "Wild Stylus." I'd recommend it over "Deep Concentration" if your friend already has the Return of the DJ ones. .Bil. IAMaCOPIER

Deep Concentration isnt really like the Return of the DJ Comps, its a bit more, well, IDM-ish, where as the Return Of's are turntablist recordings. There are tracks by the X-ecutioners, and Cut Chemist, but for the most part, Deep Concentration's tracks are ... how can I put it ... more song-orientated (not that i have anything against turntablist recordings, quite the contrary). It also comes with a fun little direct-x app on the second cd which allows you to throw together some beats of your own. Theres a website thats supposed to allow you to download more samples for it (since it uses its own proprietary format) and also upload and download completed tracks, but last time i was there they hadnt added a thing. I received a promo for it last week and it's GOOD! It has tracks from Mix Master Mike, DJ Spooky, Beat Junkies, Scratch Perverts, a guy or two from the Piklz, and best of all PUSH BUTTON OBJECTS. The PBO track is more hip hop than idm, though, and has a guy (not PBO) scratching on it. Good stuff, though. Jeff
