Do any of the Canadian radio dj's out there know if Boards of Canada count as Canadian Content under the MAPL system. If one or both were born Canadian, then they do count. Sender: idm-owner@hyperreal.org Precedence: bulk Phil Downey

Neither of them was born in Canada, they just lived here for a couple of years as kids. And even if they had been born here, it wouldn't matter - there are several other criteria used in deciding on CanCon, including where it was recorded/produced, etc. Don't you remember the big stink Bryan Adams raised a few years back when an album he recorded in the UK with all British and European collaborators wasn't considered CanCon? T'was funny to see him so viciously bite the hand that fed him since he'd be a nobody without the CanCon rules that allows his crap music to be played in the first place. Greg

Hi, as far as I know neithr of the two members is from Canada. Both are Scottish, I think. (their name originates from 'National Filmboards Of Canada', or something similar. They liked the sound of the name but shortened it to BoC) Bye Sebastian On Sat, 26 Sep 1998, philip wrote:
