True. But when the BoC LP was released, there was nothing at all about a domestic label picking it up. Only after a couple months (the LP came out in March I believe) do you even hear of it coming out, and a couple months after that does it actually reach the stores. You can say that if you're interested in a release, a couple bucks doesn't matter. True, but not everyone is a typical spotter to just go pick it up regardless of price. Many people just aren't willing to pay import prices. Maybe I'm just bitter about Nothing and its vaporware schedules. I waited, then heard nothing was happening and picked up the releases myself. I'm glad the BoC is getting released domestically. But all you need to do is look at the Ninjas for what I mean -- releases in parallel, no "exclusive" tracks across the pond, etc. Wasn't there some noise about Warp setting up shop in the US? That'd probably solve all the problems I addressed. -sml

What I think is ludicrous is their compilation of "their new drum and bass line up" -- releasing already released tracks, all the while promising to provide domestic releases and never coming through. have they released ANYTHING besides some meat beat manifesto and that comp? sheesh Autechre Release Date: sometime in 2012, cross your fingers On Tue, 22 September 1998, at 19:59:16, bruce levenstein wrote:

I would assume soon on the autechre. A friend of mine who works for a distributor already has a promo. Rob Codec! http://www.mindstorm.com/codec LogiQ http://www.sinless.com/logiq

yeah, but how hard is it for nothing to put out a promo of an album that's been around for a few months? it's not like they've been working around the clock just to have that promo. they could have made promos back in july when the album was released, but we might still have to wait another five months to see it. i can't imagine it will come out before nin's new album - can't pull any sales away from that one. np:wagonchrist:throbbingpouch On Thu, 24 Sep 1998 phlux@ix.netcom.com wrote:

That means squat. Promos are often released for albums that never see the list of day. I believe Nothing sent out promos for the Plaid record, since I recall reading reviews in a couple of US mags that don't touch imports, but it never came out in the States. Greg
