Oh, to hell with this *embarrassment* about "coming out".... NiN's on my list too. Which, btw, I'm having some trouble compiling :-) Do I get to mention the Beatles?? Am I allowed to say Sisters of Mercy? How about Underworld? Top of the list in my case would be Talking Heads' "77". Aaah! I *

dustin off the cobwebs...hmm...in no particular order: 1. Eon: Spice It didn't really change me, but it at least opened my ears to this stuff people called "techno." That must have been back around eighth grade or so...and it stuck with me through all the little musical "phases" I've been through since then. 2. Toad The Wet Sprocket: Pale Drew me away from grungy angst-rock towards music with a bit more thought put into it. 3. Big Audio Dynamite - Rush EP Track 3 - City Lights mmmm nice 4. Aphex Twin - ICBYD (of course) 5. Black Dog - Spanners The album which set me firmly into the musical rut I'm in now. 6. v/a: Necropolis: The Dialogic Project 7. Electric Company: Studio City still not quite sure just what this one's all about, but it does my head right in every time. 8. B12 - Electro Soma 9. Radiohead - OK Computer Made me realize that not all mainstream rock is crap, along with the best use (and hopefully the last) I've heard of that one Macintosh voice ("Fred", I believe?). 10. Autechre - Autriche Unfortunatly, this is the track that made me realize that Ae is in fact capable of writing something I don't like. It's the dippy faux bassoon sound that does it. There's plenty more I'm sure, but ten is enough for now. C.M.

strange .. the very first track to get me interested in the more "IDM" side of emusic .. can remember hearing it on a local show that has a habit of never back-announcing tracks .. I rang them at some stupid hour of the morning just to find out :) Tim.
