According to Faust and co., the pressing plant mucked up the CD which resulted in a single track. The next pressing will have separate tracks. As far as the music is concerned, I think its quite good. Its not as flashy as others but hits some pretty strong peaks. The fact that it was made with 2 decks, a mixer and an 8-track (nothing else) kills me. I always give props to the lo-fi D.I.Y. folks. I know of no place that has audio of Shortkut/Cut Chemist but you should buy it anyways. Of all the turntablist recordings I've heard, this is probably the one that will hold up. Brings to mind the Coldcut style cut-ups as opposed to "I'm gonna crab/flare/hamster 'till my wrist seizes up" mode of operation. Track 14 is especially fine.

Sorry in advance for the tangential DJ content... Haven't heard the DJ Disk album yet, I have heard the DJ Faust record. The one-track-60-minute layout is impossibly unlistenable, and the actual music is only so-so. I heard way better stuff on Bomb's Return of the DJ Vol. 1 by Cut Chemist, DJ EQ, Peanut Butter Wolf. The kind of album you borrow and never give back. Hee. And does anyone know where can I hear any of the Shortkut/Cut Chemist album online?
