After seeing people raving about that Bjork/Funkstorung 12" on here, I decided to get it. It lived up to all the hype, I think. Since I liked both the remix and the actual Funkstorung track (This Shit), what other releases would be worth getting? Anything I should avoid?

Here are the Funkstroung releases that would be easiest to find. All are worth getting but my favorites are the Sonderdienste and Breakart eps... . Funkstörung: Post.Art 12" (Chocolate Industries) . Funkstörung: Sonderdienste 12" (Compost) . Funkstörung: Funkentstört 12" (Compost) . Funkstörung: Breakart 12" (Musik Aus Strom) . Funkstörung: Oszillator 12" (Musik Aus Strom) Also well worth having are the three Michael Fakesch eps on Musik Aus Strom. In case you don't know, Michael Fakesch is ½ of Funkstroung. . Michael Fakesch: Demon 1 12" (Musik Aus Strom) . Michael Fakesch: Demon 2 12" (Musik Aus Strom) . Michael Fakesch: Demon 3 12" (Musik Aus Strom) -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

the only thing you should avoid is sleeping on any of these. Along with the others that have been mentioned, i would also recommend artifical garbage (rumored to have been recently repressed) and then new fakesch / estermann outing, AEMic. the new shinea twayne funkstorung remix is pretty bitchin' as well. ;-> np: norma jean bell: one of those nights (moodyman mix) peeeeeeeeece, -- Jeff Davis pHlow@earthlink.net P:518.475.5042 F:518.475.5657 ICQ:17028671 pHlow.linx: home.earthlink.net/~phlow/ Bochum Welt: www.bochumwelt.com Rotator Locator: hyperreal.org/music/rotator/

artificial garbage wasn't re-pressed yet, AFAIK, BUT it probably will be cuz the acid planet peeps have been on a major funkstorung re-pressing (but not repression!) tip, not surprising in the light of recent succsess. AP 11&12 have been out for a few months, and 13&14 are on their way (for those who don't know- the acid planet/bunker crew released funkstorung's first SEVEN LPs on their various labels). btw, recommendations for americans, go with Post-Art, just because it's domestic. Everywhere else- either post art or sonderdienste (those two are my favs, their most varied stuff, imho)

speaking of remixes, i got e-mail the other day from MAS's distributor saying that there are plans for a 2x12" release compiling all the recent/upcoming funstorung remixes (Wu-Tang, Bjork, East Flatbush, Various Artists, Finitribe, etc.. i assume) So all ya trainspotters might want to save your hard earned $$... np: Bannlust- Digital Tensions (Sabotage/Craft) mlt] musik aus strom/funkstorung online: http://members.xoom.com/multsanta/mas/

Everything they have is just excellent, that I own, at least. Musik aus Strom cat 1 and 2 are both Funk, 2 is better than 1 in my eyes, but both rock. The one on Chocolate Ind. is great, it's called Post Art. Funkenstort and Sonderdienste on Compst both are great as well, sonderdienste being my personal favorite. That is all I own, and I reccommend it all. shane
