Maurizio is the same people who are behind Basic Channel in general... and yes, the sound of Maurizio is very much the sound of Basic Channel. I can't say for sure without the track name but yes it's likely that the one on Ambient Excursions is also him. I still can't get that "heroin house" quote of Simon Reynolds out of my head from an earlier post. Basic Channel is a collective of artists. Maurizio is one of those artists.

The Maurizio track on the Ambient Excursions is a very rare Orb remix of the track Ploy.
