aren't all lock grooves infinite? regarding releases with hundreds of lock grooves there a quite a few of them.

Dr. Giggles mentioned that Dj Swamp made a lock groove that had some configuration of merging grooves on either side that made it an "Unskippable". I guess that you could knock the needle out but it would catch the concentric/merging grooves and come back in. Anyone checked this out? Making the mother template for pressing must be a little hairy (hairy little mother? (puns intended). Heck how long would you suppose the RRR 500 groove peice took? Anyone know the best US houses to have masters made for lock groove mothers? I've noticed that Interdimensional Transmissions' locked grooves are virtually pop free. About 1/4 of the vinyl tracks I've found that end in locked grooves have a little pop or fuzziness right where the grooves merge ;-( I used to have the RRR-100 single, but a wacky performance artist friend "borrowed" it. The 500 groove one might be visually indexed by groups of 10 with slight spaces between. 250 grooves identically spaced is, uh, cruel. solenoid@europa.com <------+

One month. Tape received 02/20, mastered 06/15, tape returned 06/16. That's on top of all of the regulare traffic...

Aardvark in Boulder, CO (http://www.aardvark-mastering.com/), the undisputed kings of US lock-groove mastering. They did both the aforementioned RRR LP and the previous 100 lock groove 7". They also do inside out cuts and extended side lengths. Use them for all cutting projects, they're extremely inexpensive, quick, and do quality work.
