Theres not really a 'time limit' or number of records you can play, but what I do is: 1) if you dont know how old it is, replace it 2) *Always* have a brand new spare cartridge on hand, and when in doubt, whip it out, and swap it with the suspect cartridge. if there is an audible difference (namely loss of dynamic range, muddier sound, less highs) then leave the spare on and toss the old one-> then get a NEW spare needle cart asap. as the old Rephlex flyers used to say, a dull or worn cart can actually damage your vinyl so dont be cheap. ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircaft Systems Fort Worth, Texas
