gonzi has started his own IDM label called Orange. his first release which will be by lexaunculpt should be out in a few months i'm not at liberty to release any more details though. if you need more info on the Orange label mail gonzi at: fresh@home.com in regards to new IDM labels in NYC, you may be referring to the excellent Lucky Kitchen label. They only have one release out so far but a lot of great stuff lined up including the jake mandell ep and the imaginary videogames comp which will contain some of your favorite bigtime idm artists. Here's the Lucky Kitchen discog: LK001 suetsu & underwood find the hits (and then use them) feb '98 LK002 jake mandell midwest ep Aug '98 LK003 blip, bleep (soundtracks to imaginary videogames) Sept '98 LK004 family audio tba LK005 michel auder soundtracks to video 1970-1998 Oct '98 LK006 aerospace soundwise tba LK007 underwood (aeron) tba LK008 suetsu (daniel) tba For more Lucky Kitchen info you can e-mail them at: lucky@luckykitchen.com or visit their website at http://www.luckykitchen.com. they have a great shockwave graphic/game there too. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Some people were asking me questions about Orange (at Loraine and in e-mail) so I'll just give everyone a progress report. Our first record by Lexaunculpt (Double Density EP ORNG001) is coming along nicely. To quote Han Solo "Just a few more things and we're in great shape." It will be available before you know it. I am working very hard to make this an original record that, hopefully, will include something that has never been done with a 12" release before. At any rate, I think the record marks the arrival of a major new talent on the 'IDM' scene. Those of you who have heard Lex's recent live sets can attest to the fact that this is some of the best music being made in the genre not just in the United States but anywhere. Some of Lexaunculpt's earlier works are available now on an ep released by Isophlux. That record can be purchased at Modern Music if you are interested. Our next 4 releases have been lined up and I will have some additional information soon once Lex's EP is out. There are some familliar suspects in the pack and a new face or two (not to mention a secret project here and there). If you are interested in submitting material, we are dying to hear it! It's a shame really that there aren't more artists making original electronic music in the United States. I would like nothing better than to run an American label featuring American artists but at this point that just isn't possible. Either the musicians interested in experimental music just aren't out there (I hope this isn't the case) or they aren't interested in promoting their music by sending it out to labels in the US. Please prove me wrong! The address for submissions is below you are more than welcome to send interesting noises our way, wherever they are from. I have an advance copy of this release, and let me say that it will be one of the best things to come out in '98. Alex is one of the most talented new artists in the IDM genre, and we here in OC are lucky to have him around. His programming has become more subtle and sophisticated since the Isophlux ep, perhaps because he's proved his credentials there. I won't divulge any of Gonzi's secrets, but the cover art is really good and I'd suggest that you order them as soon as they're available, making sure you get one of the first copies. 8)

If you want to get Lexaunculpt's "Oh Here's Some Noises" you'd better get on it quickly. Isophlux only printed 100 of the Blue transparent 12", and 800 of them are in Germany. They were for sale at the Loraine release party (which they sold out of), but other than that the only place to get them is at modernmusic. And you better do it quickly before they're gone. and no, I won't sell anyone my copy. 8) -Daniel daniel@peachfuzz.net ICQ# 16654223 ============================================================================== Listen to "Space Disco for Fish Tacos", KUCI 88.9fm Wednesdays 8-10pm Space Disco For Fish Tacos web site: http://www.kuci.org/~dbremmer *New* Peach Web Site: http://www.peachfuzz.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Cheerleading is my sport, Jesus is my life."
