Matrix's (Jamie Quinn) debut album 'Sleepwalk' [Virus
Recordings] is alot more subtly drum n bass compared
to his brother Optical's more hard hitting dancefloor
tunes.
I think it's one of the better albums of the year.
Frankly, I'm glad to see more albums like this that
have alot of depth, versus all banging tunes. I like
all the tracks. There's even some good trip hop stuff
like the tune 'Junction" that he work with Ed Rush &
Optical on. I recommend that you give it a good
listen, because it's one of those albums that will
grow on you...big time.
Someone yesterday gave a brief thumbs up for the new
LTJ Bukem lp. I listened to it at last night and
agree, it's WAY better than I expected. I thought it
would all be pretty, washed out synths, etc...you know
typical Good Looking Records. Instead I found a very
diverse album. I thought the downbeat stuff was
great!! Give a listen.
