In response to the question about online record stores...
In a couple of weeks, Other Music NYC (www.othermusic.com)will be
online. At first, we'll have a database searchable by artist, label,
etc., as well as a fully sortable rarities database. I think album art
and RA clips will follow eventually. We carry everything you'd want in
terms of IDM, hiphop, experimental, rock, krautrock, Japanese,
Brazilian, lounge, funk, etc, at fully competitive prices, and with more
service than you can shake a stick at... Just warning you in advance.
The main benefits of shopping with us are fully reliable service (as
opposed to the occasional horror story about online shops), and the
deepest selection anywhere of experimental, lounge, rock, old rock, and
certain segments of IDM (Bill Laswell up the wazoo, Mego, FAX, A-Musik,
etc), all in one place. And if you're looking to buy Hymnen on vinyl,
look us up... And yeegods, today we bought used copies of 11
Muslimgauze CDs, 10 extreme label albums, and 10 legendary pink dots
albums... You can always email sales@othermusic.com before the site is
complete to do email ordering...
No more blatant plugs from me, as I'll be leaving for school in a few
weeks. Thanks for the MoM info.
And the East Flatbush Project remixes are dope, really and truly. The
Gescom Viral Rival is good too. And Elliot Smith makes some brilliant
guitar pop...
Sam
