First off, forget Corpus Christi for anything IDM.. You mention IDM there and theyll point you to a computer store. Leave Corpus at once! In Austin look for Alien Records on west 15th and San Antonio street (across from 711) ,and Waterloo Records is on 6th and Lamar has excellent Rephlex and other IDM stuff (but you knew that) . I dont know where they are in Austin (physically) but also see: Swoon - http://home.earthlink.net/~volmun/swoon.htm 33 degrees - http://nd.org/thirty.html Bluemoon (system7) - http://www.purity.com/system7/ Hi-Jack Records - http://www.hi-jack.com All listed in Austin. Give the *whole* city an I-Miss-You Hug for me while you are there *sigh* :( Hope that helps. ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircaft Systems Fort Worth, Texas

They also stock geetah records(like FSA, Bowery Electric, etc) for all the trendy indie kids. * Hi-Jack Records - http://www.hi-jack.com This is run by my friend Dave and someone else. They are a virtual store, and he probably wouldn't appreciate strangers coming over to his house. Here in austin, 33 degrees which ernesto mentioned is now at guadalupe and fourty-first streets, in the former hyde park pharmacy shoppe. They have a modest but rather good collection of things, and host some interesting instore performances. see their recentest announcement, from today (my birthday! woo-hoo..), attached below. okay.. must finish packing up. off to sf in the morn-ing. ciao, yon yon@physics.utexas.edu

I'll be back in my hometown of Houston for the next week, with some time spent in Austin and Corpus Christi as well. Does anyone know of anything IDMish going on in these places or of any good record stores (that have opened in the past four years)? Thanks. Danny. ------------------------- Danny Wyatt danny@arbitrary.com http://www.arbitrary.com/
