The B1 is called 'Take Me Back' (if you've heard it you'll know why), cos it's on the '100lbs' CD. Fun to mix with Maurizio and Secret Ingredients... Hi - Anyone got a track listing for the new Herbert triple LP on phonography? Any new tracks on there or is it a singles collection? Mini reviews - Wagon Christ - Tally Ho. Great stuff. Good fun down tempo with a dash of chilled jungle - sense of humour, cheeky samples, general lush funky feel to it. Irresistable Force - Its Tomorrow Already. Very dense electronic ambience - lots of smooth keyboard sounds, drum lines coming in and out, voice samples, all in all very pretty and relaxing. Nice work. ThanksAndrew C.

Doh! I just ordered "Around the House," thinking it had all-new tracks. This after realizing that there were only five tracks from my newly purchased "Parts 1, 2 & 3" that I didn't already own on "100lbs." Does anyone have a total of how many tracks are duplicated with all three releases? (if not, I'll compile my own and get back with the breakdown). And which of the three are collections, and which are originals? Thanks... .John.

Erm, not sure what you mean by 'caberet' but I saw Matt Herbert twice a long time ago. Once as Wishmountain and once as Dr. Rockit. The first time, the Wishmountain performance was the best. He came on stage, very dapper in a 3 piece suit, and performed as far as I could tell completely live. He had a partner sat at the side of the stage working a sampler. Herbert was playing kitchin implements, cameras, radios and suchlike, and his playing was sampled and looped by the chap at the electronics. The second time at the Big Chill in the Union Chapel, was a Dr. Rockit show. Matt was wheeled on stage in one of those hospital person wheely devices, wearing full surgical gear. He the proceeded to play the wheely device, banging the metal bits, scratching on the sheets, and mucking about with a stethoscope. This show didn't appear to be as live as the first one, it ws more like he was playing along with backing tapes. Both shows were very enjoyable though, I wouldn't hesitate to go see him if you have the chance. CheerioAndrewC.

I have seen him play as Wishmountain, and it was an interesting experience to say the least. Again he came on in a suit, but it was quite ovious, and I dont think he was hiding the fact that he was using some form of backing tape. He just came on and played his 'props' over the tunes. His props included toothbrushs, combs, radio, Kitchen tools, but the best being him playing a toaster, then making toast and using it as an instrument after cooking. As AndrewC said if I had the chance to see him again then I would take it, but having said that I have been a bit disapointed with Matt Herberts output of late. By the way this was at the Big Chill Gala back in 1996. Dan.

I'll try that. I had a 2X12" by him under the guise of Wishmountain. I liked it at first but it started to sound a little obvious after awhile. I don't know if my original post about Playhouse even made it up. It never turned up in my inbox, but I literally finished writing it, refreshed my mail and all of a sudden there was another post about Playhouse. Crazy stuff.
