After I've bought the album, I can find no title on the case of the new Autechre album, but people on this list have referred to it as "LP5" and it's also listed on Warp-net as LP5 (although not always; sometimes "LP5", as in the warp-mart, and in the news section as [untitled LP5]) So, what *is* the correct title of the album ? is it really that amazing? mine is still being sniffed at by some customs dog or something... somebody told me it sounded a bit too clean and un-crunchy/un-farty (sic) for him but that might be good for me?

i *love* the crunchiness and moodiness of chiastic slide. for me, it is some of the best stuff i have ever heard. the new album is nothing like that. however, while it sounds "cleaner" -- it is still very eerie and original. honestly, a few of the tracks confuse the hell out of me (like that one that gradually slows down with no pitch change.. but its so fucking tweaked!). i really have never heard anything like it. so while i was hoping for something like chiastic slide, i the new album very much has exceeded my expectations. listen to it in a quiet, dark room -- and then see if you find the cleaness a problem :) chris.
