as most people on this list are, i'm interested in music creation. i've played around a lot with some PC programs (fractal music programs, picture to music programs like metasynth, and rebirth) for a while, but i'd like to make the jump into physical hardware. i'm not quite sure where to start, so i thought i'd post here. i'd be interested in finding something that operates similar to a TR303, although obviously not the actual machine because of the slightly prohibitive price. so i want a machine that allows you to program loops and write songs by changing between the loops. two of the biggest problems i have are: i have no money, and i have no knowledge. :) if anyone here can suggest a good web site or magazine that is about electronic music creation, or can offer the names of some devices i might want to look into, it would be very helpful. i've seen hyperreal's music machines section, but it has such a large number of machines listed it's pretty much unusable for my situation. i've also looked around for "electronic musician" and some other magazines i've heard of, but i haven't been able to find anything around here. i'll keep looking. anyway, thanks if you can offer any help... james.
