Photek is jungle, not drill'n'bass. but your point here somewhat crosses
paths with what I was trying to say..
why should we call it drill'n'bass.. it caused everyone to corrolate the
next wave of big hits as being drill'n'bass tracks, and suddenly the wave
became reality and now the wave has crashed and the ocean is calm again.

no way man.. there's only a few IDM hits that aren't organic, and those are
mostly autechre tracks, that sound machinery clashing together.

well, I don't believe this.. it is tough to incorporate real instruments
(without using samplers). I fell in love with and will always be in love
with the sound of the vibraphone, upon playing it at a jazz festival thing
at school. (I just played with it while the bandmembers took a break)
I can imagine making some KICKASS ambient tracks with that as one of the
instruments. it's got it's own reverb, and it's own vibrato :)

well, I wouldn't go as to generalise it that far.. and just for those who
read what I said before and thought that I am anti-vocal, just know that I
hold anything Jimi Tenor has done close to my heart, and will always do so..
and I also put the latest Madonna album up there with what are the best
albums as of late.. I mean there are lots of those.. it is definitely
without a doubt thee best pop record to come out in 1998 (I dunno about
bjork with mark bell, have not heard it..)
but yes, the madonna vocals are a bit annoying, but it is after all, pop
music, so. and most vocals do suck, because a lot of times it just ruins the
music, just with the way a lot of times MC's ruin the music.. now there are
of course exceptions. I saw LTJ Bukem DJ with MC Conrad and MC Conrad didn't
ruin the music at all. Then I have a Sven Väth mixtape with some german MC
that if I was there I would have wanted to throw my shoe at.
