Before Multisanta puts them nails into the coffin of "dril 'n' bass", let us not forget about the upcoming (this week?) release of Bubbah Tum's ep on ILL (with remixes by Cabbageboy aka Si Begg!). :) btw--with all this chat about Req, one question nags my mind. Is it anything like DJ Vadim's work? Thanks. --- Peace Hugs and Unity Jason J. Tar W. W. J. D? (What would Jason Do?) http://pilot.msu.edu/user/tarjason ICQ@13792120

More importantly (for some) it has a Boards of Canada remix, which is very nice indeed and just that little bit too short - makes you come back for more. adam

Would that be a _good_ thing, or a _bad_ thing, I wonder ? While on the topic : does anybody else have the freebie "D-ROM" #3 CD that came stuck on DJ Magazine? Featuring a "25 min exclusive mix by DJ Vadim vs DJ Primecuts" ? My comment : too much talking. (Or shall we call it cut-up rapping?) I *

For the third time this week.... It's very good - beats have a slightly unusual (for them) whomp-y feel, derived from the original track I think. Lovely ascending, oscillating melody using that trademark vibe-sound; beautifully placed vocal sample. The last 30 seconds or so all go a bit manic, and it fades out. Then you walk over to the turntable and put it on again. There are three other tracks on the 12", I believe. adam

Nope. Much more obscure and less cohesive <at least frequency jams is>. Listening to req demands the listener's attention so that it can be fully enjoyed. More simply put it is hip hop soaked in layers of obscurity <there is that word again> -daniel
