Just got hold of "Suzuki" - the new album by Tosca, aka Richard Dorfmeister (of K&D) and Rupert Huber on G-Stone/!K7. So far (I'm on a first listen here) I prefer this vastly over their previous "Opera" album - hard not to make comparisons with Peter Kruder's solo effort Peace Orchestra; which I really love - but this rates up there along with it. Downtempo, chill mellow grooves, the odd fem vox doo-doo-daah- ing over the top unobtrusively and some dubby squiggles going on in the bass line. One for the Comedown Queens among us :-) I * --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I actually prefer 'Opera' to the solo Peace Orchestra but 'Suzuki' is superb. Pretty much everything either K or D (or both) do is good to my ears. Out of interest, does Rupert Huber have any material outside Tosca? And is it any good?

That sums it up, yes :-) But don't forget there are some male doo-doo-daah-ing on some of the tracks (a bit like the intro track off 'Opera').

Well I don't know about that... Nick --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
