lily of the valley is the best thing i've heard on schematic
since jeswa's skone ep. mellow, outstanding efforts from
phoenecia and takeshi muto lay the foundation, while r.
devine, delarosa & asora, jeswa, 09, and gliese deliver
tempo shifts, groovy melodies, nostalgic analog soundscapes,
intelligent techno, and obscure synth noodling. the record
is very diverse and engaging. reference points might include
recent releases from aspen, arovane, or quench, though i
think lily of the valley sounds way better as a whole than
the releases i've heard from those artists. not to mention
the ischemic folks compilation, which, imo, only had one
track worth a piss (you guessed it: jeswa's). note the
exclusion on the new comp. of push button objects, who just
about bored me to death on ischemic folks. whether you
liked that one or not, definitely buy the new one on sight;
you won't be disappointed.
before i revert to lurk mode, allow me advertise my new
sale/trade list at
http://www.microlink.net/~mlee/idm.html
highlights include releases from arovane, bola, dettinger,
and lithops, among many others. all items are priced to
sell, none of that auction bullshit.
