np: cujo - The Brazillionaire I'm playing this off CD (Adventures in Foam) and it sounds like the (vinyl) hole is off-centre - is this sound an intentional wobble?? His bass-line seems off key in relation to the keyboard melody. It's the first time I've noticed, and I'm listening at high volume on head phones, but it's quite disconcerting - quite possibly it's a tension-causing device used deliberately. Thoughts? I *

Yes, I've noticed on quite a number of Amon's tracks that the bass is out of tune. On track 2 I think from bricolage, there are a number of rather out of tune samples. It *really* bugs me because other than that I find him possibly the best musician working in the idm field these days full stop. Oh well. I'll put up a review of Permutations soon along with some other stuff. On first two listens, it's as brilliant as ever but there are a couple of tracks with yet again out of tune basslines and stuph. Oh well. In my own music I always work at getting the samples in tune with each other, I think that's very important. Also getting samples to match harmonically if possible. In the otherwise brilliant Nightlife from Permutations, the piano sample and the choral sample and the other stuff just don't fit together harmonically. Oh well. It's not so bad as to ruin the track. just picked up a used copy of Adventures in Foam and was wondering if there was a booklet included with it. There's a slot for one in the packaging but mine didn't have anything in there. if there is one what' s on it? thanx Howie ps Permutations is pretty killer as well!
