I`m going to this John Peel gig next saturday at the Festival Hall, featuring Autechre, Plaid, and some outfit I`ve never heard of called "Plone". Who/what/why are they? Not that it`s really important, I mean, Autechre and Plaid together at the Royal Festival Hall. Smart or what! <---HEATsink--->

I saw plone at a Blech night in London earlier this year. Three guys with a lot of equipment... Very nice music. A album on the way on Warp (so I hear). You will enjoy them... hess

Plone have had only one release as far as I know (a 7" on Wurlitzer Jukebox). They are recent signings to Warp and so far have had nothing out (except a track on forthcoming wap100). I heard them in session on John Peel and they sounded a bit like an instrumental Broadcast. But with nice soft & warm melodies rather than the coldness of Broadcast. Would appeal to fans of Stereolab, Add N to X, Broadcast, Flowchart, Tortoise etc. NOTE: This gig is going out live on Radio 1 (and RA too, presumably) John Peel also recently announced that in the next 5 weeks or so there would be a Boards of Canada session and an Add N to X session. A good time to get some blank minidiscs in preparation. Nick
