all this bitching about Kraftwerk not being able to do new music reminded me of a blip in some recording magazine i read recently. I swear I read something about one of the old Kraftwerk doods and one of the Mouse on Mars guys collaborating. Anyone heard this stuff? The project is called Yamo, the album is called "Time Pie", and it's really, REALLY awful. I mean *really*. As in: it was painful for me to listen to the whole thing through. Brrrrr. Apparently MOM have stated in interviews that they're embarassed by the way the whole thing turned out and wish they'd never done it. Greg

It's got really stupid lyrics, which I presume are suppose to be whimsical but just don't work. I guess I don't really like the vocals full stop anyway. It has a few cool Mouse On Mars noises, but that didn't make it an enjoyable experience for me. Oh yeah, it's Karl Bartos, btw. Michael "You know what? No, it's actually Wolfgang Fluer. Future Music have an interview with him in the June issue and all the sound bites on the attached CD so that you can remix one of the tracks "Mosquito" yourself (like the Progen thing from the Shamen). Wolfgang will listen to the submitted mixes and award a "special prize" to the best remix. I thought it sounded good too until I heard the bits and pieces. I still haven't heard the original track but there are really dumb vocals in there and some really bad cheesy melodies. There's a few cool sounds in there to work with but I can't be arsed anymore. He can keep his "special prize". A. \ / - + - mailto:andrewj@mindless.com / \ http://www.zip.com.au/~andrewj/
