**Announcing TheWire mailing list** TheWire mailing list is an unmoderated list, for (but not limited to) the discussion of the music covered in the UK print magazine The Wire. This list is in no way affiliated with The Wire. It is simply using the magazine's coverage of musical topics, and its readers, as a launching point for interesting discussion. The magazine itself can be found at: http://www.dfuse.com/the-wire/ There is also a good online resource for back-articles here: http://www.sat.dundee.ac.uk/~arb/music/wire.html To subscribe to the list, register at: http://www.onelist.com/subscribe.cgi/thewire To post to the list, send email to: thewire@onelist.com To unsubscribe from the list, go to: http://www.onelist.com List moderator: Davis Ford forddavi@pilot.msu.edu THE WIRE Magazine: Adventures In Modern Music 45-46 Poland Street London W1V 3DF UK Tel: +44 (0)171 439 6422 Fax: +44 (0)171 287 4767 Subscriptions: +44 (0)171 734 3555 Ads: +44 (0)171 494 1340 E-mail: the_wire@ukonline.co.uk Web: http://www.dfuse.com/the-wire

before i go trudging through the pretentiousness, can anyone vouch for whether or not the basic channel is archived on-line here? if not there, is it online anywhere else that anyone know of? Last time I checked, that site is just a cross reference database - you type in your artist and it tells you that there was a full article in issue 49, a half page news item in issue 56, and an album review in issue 57, that kinda thing. But not the content of the articles. So unless it's been upgraded, there wouldn't be any trudging. But without any of the pretentiousness there either, it wouldn't be a lot of use to you :) J ^ np: Subconscious Geography CD one Steady J aka James Skilton steady-j@geocities.com Autechre & SKAM discogs @ http://subnet.virtual-pc.com/~sk393820 "I don' have any idea 'bout what's going on..."
