it's a weird sorta 60's style pop tune remixed by a bunch of cool people, and the aphex twin as well.

Mike Flowers is a kind of jokey, easy listening band leader in the mould of Geoff Love. He shot to fame in Britain during christmas 95 with an amusing and sanctioned easy' cover of Oasis's Wonderwall. He seems to be mates of Aphex in some way as RDJ used to go to some easy listening club a few years back. I left the said 12" back at home this term but inexplicabley found myself humming the Aphex mix last week and it's been stuck there, on and off ever since. Weird. Steve.N n.p. Aphex mix of Mike Flowers Pops (in my head).

The Luke Vibert and Funky Porcini mixes rule as well :) (moreso than the afx mix actually imho) __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ "..in whatever you do, if you can't break new ground, what's the point?" - James Cameron

I ran across a cut-out cd at a Tower Records out in the burbs last week. It was: THE MIKE FLOWERS POPS MEETS The Aphex Twin "Downtownin"...The Freedase Connection (LO EP 02cd) What in the hell is this? And who is Mike Flowers? Let me know if this is worth a trek back out to the suburbs and a dig through that old cut-out bin for a delicious re-mix (ep). Maybe it would be "the needle in the haystack"!? It also featured re-mixes by LUKE VIBERT, THE MELLOWTRONS,PERRY DeCHICO SLANG and FUNKI PORCINI Later gang, BTW who is going to the MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO show here June 22 @ the RIV? _____________________________________ ---------------------------------------------~ Curt King cking@xnet.com COLUMBIA AUDIO/VIDEO Chicago,IL.USA.EARTH "Taste is the enemy of art" _____________________________________ ----------------------------------------------~
