The new LP is nothing short of billiant. Lots of samples from 40's era musicals mixed with drum and bass rhythms. I can't seem to stop playing this CD. It's sooo different from alot of the drum and bass that I have heard lately. A definite A+ for originality. np: Fade to Grey - Visage :) Rich Sihilling Fuzzy Logik Music - A Nu Breed of Record Label http://www.fuzzylogik.com

Sigh. To live somewhere that would play Amon Tobin on the radio. I only turn on the radio when I want to hear the rants of insane persons, or as it's commonly called, talk radio.

Somebody should do a proper Amon discography. I guess I just volunteered. Here's a first crack. If you have any additions/corrections, please email them to me. I'll HTMLize it and stick it on my webpage. One more thing - does anyone know the name of the park in Seattle where the picture on the cover of Bricolage was taken? So I am posting this: KUCI 88.9fm, Irvine Ca. is hosting the annual fundrive this week (6/1-6/8). If you are in the area, PLEASE consider making a contribution. The station is a small public/college radio blessing in one of the more conservative areas of the US. We have a lot of nice "thank you gifts" (including a super nice benefit cd filled with idm/techno/exp/noise/electronic-ish bands). The station is all volunteer, and I think we do a pretty damn fine job at what we do. The phone number is 949 824 5824. Sorry for the solicitation, but I think some of you may appreciate it and want to help out. Thank you, chris.

its called city center its right under the space needle the sculpture was moved about 2 years ago to accomodate a new kiddy playland (which was moved to accomodate the new hendrix museum) .. the sculpture now sits very uncomfortably over in the corner with alot of Ibeams welded to it .. m.

I'll second that : I heard one track ('Escape') off his 'Permutation' LP on Ninja Tune (?) on the radio yesterday and liked it alot : very complex, samples from some old gangster movie(?), nicely programmed d'n'bassy rhythms and chilled jazz samples: nearest thing i know is Plug. sorry i'm not too hot at describing music in words :) but on the strength of that track i think i'll go get it. is the rest of this album in the same vein? what other stuff has he put out? (is Kujo one of his other aliases?) cheers for any help Mark. -- ____________________________________________________ Mark Hadley: mark.hadley@virgin.net ?!?!?!?!? http://freespace.virgin.net/mark.hadley/mark/go.html ____________________________________________________

Cujo :-) Yes it is. Under the Cujo name he recently put out Adventures in Foam (on Shadow Records) and as Amon Tobin there was the full-length "Bricolage" last year, as well as EP's (Piranha Breaks and ? something else too). I * ~~ incomplete without surface noise ~~ [Ae]

Chomp Samba (ZEN53/ZENCDS53) which is great as well. 4-track jazz EP with a lot of breaks and the big easy. But Bricolage is still his best release to date if you ask me. Franz. ----------- "To do is to be" / Descartes ---------- "To be is to do" / JP Sartre --------- "Do be do be do" / Frank Sinatra .

well i was a bit disappointed at first, as the first few tracks sound not too different from anything on "bricolage". fortunately, after track 3 it all gets MUCH more crazy. psychotic jazz meets drum 'n' bass with lots of excellent programming tricks and general wackiness. -- Jon Drukman jsd@gamespot.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Plan: Eat right, exercise regularly, die anyway.
