listening to miles davis'
black magus (live at carnegie
hall) the other night, and
calypso frelimo comes on, and
i was totally thrown back
when i heard miles organ part.
it's the exact same thing that
constitutes the main "melody"
on slug dub from orbus
terrarum. amazing. didn't know
that miles was influenced
by the orb... ;)
other miles stuff i've noticed:
flamenco sketches in the 6th track
of coco steel and lovebomb's "it"
album.
various pieces of miles davis quintet
stuff in dj cam's interludes on
substances.
speaking of dj cam, how's the beat
assasinated? i'm hoping it will be
in my mailbox when i get home, but
i was just wondering what other people
thought.
