I dug out some old cassettes the other night, one of which was a much-loved and not-listened-to-very-often copy of Unique 3's album 'Jus Unique' which must have come out about 1990/91. Apart from the odd sore thumb vocal which made our lass scream "What the f***'s THIS??" it had lost none of its charm. Much as some of us used to turn our noses up at the term 'bleep' back in those days, it pretty much sums up the stuff on this album. The black British reggae bass is all there, with clonking crisp rhythm tracks and plinky detuned melody lines. House, techno, hip hop... it's all there. It's got a similar mix of styles to Nightmares On Wax's 'A Word Of Science' and comes out of that same West Yorkshire melting pot. Anyway, point being, I'd really like to get hold of this on CD if it exists. I don't even know if it was released on CD.... anyone got any info? Damon.
