deal? I've heard a track from this on the Wire free CD WireTapper. It's sort of interesting, but also a bit boring... Basically, Panasonic provided the backing track for Vega to do some spoken word. Their music is pretty minimal and abrasive, basically a few different drum and electronic sounds that trigger at different tempos, so the placement of the sounds keeps shifting, but the sounds barely do. Vega's part is not very interesting, but the panasonic backing is cool for a while. So it's a collaboration, not a remix or split single Sam

i'll agree that the a side's a bit disjointed. "no home kings", though, is nothing short of a trackside seat at the indy 500 with alan as the only spectator. (bonus points for holiday appropriateness) anyway, nice sweeps, some chattering going on under the hood, but otherwise she runs pretty good. "fun in wonderland" finds your front right tire flat, but it makes a nice thumpity-thump so you push on anyway. alan doesn't seem to mind either, so it's a good race to the checkered flag. no spectacular fiery crashes, but that's what the real un's for, eh? cipheringly yours, mj * * * * * * * )) ) * ( ( ( * _O )WW( ___________(]])__WWWW_______________ -- XXXX those sad, sad campfire songs...

Alan Vega is, of course, the other member of legendary Suicide proto-techno duo, from whom Pan sonic have taken loads of influences. Their classic first album has now been released on Mute with some bonus stuff. Get yourself a bit of music history -> http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb/links/artists/suicide.html erkki rautio, also known as pHinn * the webmaster of pHinnWeb - the old skool, the nu skool * * and the pHuture skool of Finnish electronic music * * trerra@uta.fi | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb * <http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb/flyers/electricpleasures/> PS. A joint Alan Vega/Pan sonic album should be out during this year.
