Bloody 'ell, I've gotta get this album now! The only Drexciya I have is "The Journey Home EP" on Warp records (mmm very crunchy) and a track called "Davey Jones Locker" on some Detroit-ey compilation. Gimme more!. But as someone else mentioned on this list, the entire UR/Submerge thing is extremely cool especially other projects like Ectomorph. Matthew D. Smith http://chilloutroom.eskom.co.za:8080

ask and ye shall receive. i've just set up a nice new real audio depository on an extremely well-connected box (multiple T3s, tier 1 provider... oh baby, pure bandwidth all the way.) check out http://sticky.bud.com/ if your browser pukes on that you should use http://sticky.bud.com/jsd/

the best tracks by a LONG WAY are on the rephlex ep oh and watch out promo buyers, there are 2 (or more?) different pressings of squarepusher's big loada knocking about, one of which jumps all over the place on my deck - it's also a lot quieter. if it's about an inch from the label on the a side, don't buy it cheerio! np - lunatic harness - u-ziq

Some of the Drexciya kit is a bit noisy I guess but I think that all the Drexciya stuff is mastered on 4 or 8 track. || [CiM] || simonw@sol.ftp.com || -

The earliest stuff was mastered to 4-track analog tape. Not certain about the later material. -d.w.

I think first pressing was on shockwave (cat.no. : sw?), but the re-release was on Submerge (cat.no. : sve-3) btw, Drexciya 4 is called 'Unknown Aquazone 2EP' Anyone willing to sell this one, coz this is the only one I missed from the 1 to 7th release ? How many tracks are on it that are not featured on 'The Quest' ?

Nah, I wouldn't say this is Drexciya 8, it's a compilation of first 7 Drexciya records plus some that I haven't heard of, so that's why I asked for full discog ? On 'The Quest' there is cat.no. : S.I.D.-005 ...where is this tracks originally coming from ? Is it exclusive track from some CD comp. (i.e. Depth Charge)

the 3x12" and two I think on the CD. I haven't seen any reviews about this one, but I know it's well worth getting... I thought this is sort of compilation of their most essential tracks, like 'classics' or similar, but as I hear now it's new album ? All new tracks ? Can someone give me tracklisting please. thanks bye rob

The S.I.D. series 12's were EP's that were supposed to be exclusive to the Submerge Somewhere In Detroit store. The idea was that the only way you could get them was to physically visit the shop on the ground floor of Submerge's building. A few of them occasionally turn up at other shops, though. There were a few previously unreleased tracks from Drexciya, UR, and a couple of other artists released this way. I'm sure some spotter has a complete list of these somewhere. :) Thanks to Submerge's refusal to play the "release and delete" game, though, these don't fetch the exorbitant prices a lot of other limited availability releases do. -d.w.
