scruples aside, the original post mentioned he had no turntable. which makes playing vinyl difficult, and not necessarily a worthwhile purchase. of course, the fakesch album is available on CD.

However, if this person were to purchase the vinyl, even if they couldn't play it, they would be entitled to own a CDR of the contents of those recordings legally. If you're into IDM at all, a turntable is almost required equipment. Skam, V/Vm, MaS, Chocolate Industries, FatCat, etc.; how can you listen to even half of their output without a record player? I can't - and that sucks. Still, I don't have neither the space nor the inclination to buy a turntable, and even if I did, all (good) records would end up being burnt to CD, anyway... :( Heck, most music I play here is either played from my 2 CD drives in the PC (really nice to throw in 2 full-length CDs and just let them play in a loop) or from WinAmp... and with turntables, I just can't do that... :/ -- Kurt B Pruenner Haendelstrasse 17 4020 Linz/AUSTRIA http://www.mp3.com/Leak np: Boards Of Canada - Smokes Quantity (Music Has The Right To Children) WARP Records http://www.warprecords.com/ BUZZ 1&2 http://www.buzz2.com/ User Friendly http://www.userfriendly.org/ Segfault http://www.segfault.org/ Anime On DVD http://www.animeondvd.com/ Slashdot http://www.slashdot.org/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
