I just recently picked up "Invisible Soundtracks [macro1]" on the Leaf Label. Besides being a really good compilation I noticed that a track by Air Miami was published by TeenBeat. Is this the same TeenBeat based in Arlington, VA? And what can anyone tell me about the band? Thanks in advance, Ross

It is the same label. Air Miami grew out of the ashes of Unrest, the jangly college-rock band we all knew and loved back in the early 90s. OK, maybe it was just me, but they were really good. I saw them when they toured with Stereolab and it was a most excellent show indeed. Mark Robinson and Bridget Cross are Air Maimi's primary members (and were two thirds of Unrest). They have an album _Me,_Me,_Me_ released on 4AD/TeenBeat in the US, and a couple of EPs. If you liked Unrest, it's pretty safe to say you'll like them. More info can be found at: http://www.erols.com/teenbeat/airmiami.html The track on the Leaf compilation is pretty atypical for them, as I recall. I was very surprised to see it there. -- Adam J Weitzman "You know, there's so many different ways NewsEdge Corp. to lose your mind, and rock'n'roll is http://www.newsedge.com just one of them." http://www.newspage.com - Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist

Wow, that's great. I had no idea that Air Miami was on Invisible Soundtracks. Which gets me back to that "how I got into IDM" thread. How many people came here through indie rock? I'm not ashamed to admit it. I heard Tortoise and it was all over. Actually, I remember a while ago someone saying that there was no such thing as "the average Aphex/Autechre" fan. Well, I think there is and when I have more time I'll explain why. , Danny
