"Well now, I wouldn't say that.." could be you're a really bright, politically neutral *music-lover* that *really* doesn't enjoy receiving e-mail full of profanity and highly inflammatory comments under any circumstances. Anyway, I got my copy of Echo Park's full-length yesterday. After only a couple of listens I hear it as a combination of unvarying beats (hip-hop breaks, but not gritty at all, and no drum-n-bass if memory serves me right), interesting guitars, samples (speech), and bare electronic signals (mildly Panasonic). The following are credited on track or two each with guitar noises, treated guitar, etc.- Thurston Moore, Robert Hampson(sp?), Sarah Peacock, and Darren Seymour. A couple of the tracks remind me of On-U Sound, humorous and really noisy.. I'm happy with it, but try before you buy. re: songs to make you weep... Massive Attack - lots, notably the track 'Protection' Air - 'All I Need' Dead Can Dance - most of their music, but 'Song of the Seraphim' and 'In the Kingdom of the Blind the One-Eyed are Kings' get me every time another vote for BoC - 'Everything you do is a Balloon' FSOL - Lifeforms CDS Brad Shelton bshelton@cte.net
