because it helps to know how much you need to order, so you can keep inventory, and therefore prices, down... tom w np: buckethead and brain - i need 5 minutes alone _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. that's what pre-release lists are for. bc has a habit of doing this with their regular *new release list*. that's the irritating part... sc, done with this topic

i agree this whole anti b.c. thing has gotten out of hand. i just want to share some views of my own i cant speak from experience about bent crayon and how good/not good they are, but i can say he has been doing this as long as i have, and he has a thriving buisness. there have been a bunch of people who have come and gone selling this kind of music, and he is still there. i know how hard it can be. hats off to anyone who can make a go of it. i know john must be pretty good because he has always proved to be worthy competition for me at least. bent crayon does have lots of loyal customers and thats a undisputed fact. i also cant dispute that he does indeed sell a more varied selection of music. it would totally make me mental if i had to send out a new release list every week that size. bent crayon, s://kimo, and playing by ear all have different philosophies about what we should sell and how to sell it. i think it's great that all of us are individual and that people have a choice. in a lot of ways its like comparing apples and oranges. i also think it sucks that this has turned in to a bent crayon v.s. s://kimo thing. its not something i enjoy reading This isnt a game. both john and i have our sole means of income tied up in our businesses. we dont do this for kicks you know. its not like we have a couple of records that we sell off to make us some extra pocket money. this is our livelihood. i am not defending bent crayon because i want to be a "nice guy", i am doing it because its not fair to him or any of us dealers. i could just as easily be me getting attacked out there. i am sure he works very hard all of the time to build his business and reputation, and people just being unreasonable and unkind in a forum like this is really irresponsible. it may not be the hardest job in the world, but it aint no stroll in the park either. john also has employees he needs to look after and thats a big responsibility. and lastly (hate to say it) but some of you guys out there in customer land are no saints either. i would say that the vast majority of you are great and a pleasure to do business with but a few here and there are enough to make you want to get a state job! i cant speak for bent crayon, but i am sure he has the same problems with people stiffing him on orders, changing orders, not returning e-mails (you guys do that too you know) declined credit cards, ect if you gotta gripe, gripe to us, not 1000 people. its not cool. -pj pj>the exalted grand puba of mail order s://kimo 8082 main st, apt #1 ellicott city, md 21043 fon: 410.203 0731 fax:410 203 0955 http://www.skimo.com (coming soon) DO YOU GET OUR WEEKLY NEW RELEASE LIST?
