Sorry if this has already come up, but I don't think so. Looking for comments on the NIN "Perfect Drug" EP with remixes by Plug, Spacetime Continuum, Orb, etc. Specifically, is this EP recommended for folks who like the remixers but rather dislike NIN; i.e., do the remixers pretty much eliminate the recognizable presence of Trent Reznor? Thanks in advance. -BWY _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. The horrible lyric "You want the Perfect drug" is still there in most songs, but plug was the only one who made it bearable. It's pretty good, nothing stellar though. meat beat mix was a disappointment, but plug/spacetime was pretty good. I don't remember the orb mix. I'm selling it... the orb mix seemed to mock ol' trenty at times, like making him sound like a crying baby. funny... * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com #### one time and you're a philosopher; two times and you're a pervert.

Oh? I seem to hear it as "you *are* the perfect drug" " ...And I want you You are the perfect drug without you everything falls apart..." And I actually love Trent's original. Okay - shoot me. I * could be playing : Love is the Drug / Roxy Music :-)

Don't worry. I'm with ya. I even think it's better than all the remixes (of which Trent's remix is the best as well). Oh well. - wells oliver / s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu

I like that EP pretty well. The reznor elements are still present in most of the tracks, but the best mixes are those in which it's hard to tell. Reznor is as repetitive as anyone else, so a new take on the track was welcome. It's worth the money, anyway. In my opinion, the remixes are amazing. I really dislike Trent Reznor, although I am really looking forward to the remix he's doing for Puffy Combs's new single. The Plug remix is probably the best. I'm told the 3x12" has an exclusive Plug remix which isn't very good at all, but I don't know that firsthand. So, in other words, I highly recommend it. Stormsonic@aol.com

No, the vinyl-only mix of the perfect drug is by Aphrodite...I wasn't too impressed. (Throb, NYC may still have this if you've been looking) You may be thinking of Luke Vibert's US Original Fire promo 12"-only "mix #2" of Meat Beat Manifesto's "Radio Babylon" which is very good if I do say so! np: BoC - telphasic workshop (excellent! can't wait for the full-length...)
