even though i get the feeling this thread should be stopped, i would like to comment since i'm the one who has drawn the ire of mr scooper... all i was suggesting was that the sounds and song structure remind me of two different eras of autechre, and thus have a similar emotional effect upon me as ae and would appeal to those who might like those periods too. i could have gone into some prosaic and detailed description of arovane, but i'd rather leave it as a general "recommended if you like" and then let the listener figure things out from there, draw their own conclusions. sorry for showing my apparent laziness and ignorance, i thought i was offering a short succinct opinion on an artist that i think a bunch of people on IDM would really like. maybe next time my reviews won't disappoint... btw, i'm not actually as annoyed at this as i might sound, but i am surprised that such an innocent (and hopefully moderately useful) comment could draw such negative attention. guess i shouldn't quit my day job to become a music reviewer. :) ethan ps - i thought the BDP in "BDP meets coil" was black dog productions, not boogie down. then again, perhaps i'm just missing jetjag's joke... It's a very enjoyable slice of music, though. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

As it goes, I kind of agree that there's a lot more to Arovane than some of the comparisons may suggest, if taken in isolation anyway. I love atol scrap, especially Tascel 7, and mr Zahn says that that track represents where he is headed in the future so I will be watching what he does next with great interest.
