For those that don't know, Juan Atkins will be spinning at LIFE on 3/31 I don't have the adress or the phone # Only 10.00 with flyer! So go find one. And for anyone who's into Detroit or good solid techno dj'ing, he's the shit. Needless to say, he's the forefather, grandfather and a godfather of Detroit techno. I have'nt seen him in a few years, but I'm sure he will smoke. unless you are speaking of semiflammable vegetable matter devices, i beg to differ. i've seen juan spin and it was nothing special, since i value djing skills in addition to "having the records." spinning records is not the same as spinning knobs. this is a classic move, equating deck skills with production skills, but i wonder about the erasure of that distinction. eric onnow: kymm serrano mix (urbansounds)

Well I too have seen JA numerous times, and I still think he smokes. Being a fairly new New Yorker from Detroit, I am looking forward to hearing him. It's not so much his technique (sure there are plenty of DJ's who are better), it's more his tracks selection and his consistent ability to take you on a deep deep ride through the history of Detroit Techno.
