Someone asked about this a week ago, but I don't know if it got a responce - anyone got a tracklisting of some sort for the afx_live.mp3? Also, where is this from, a radio show? np: Foxtrot. -- Via DLG Pro v1.0 edwin_wong@kiwi.com // Destruction Productions Aphexweb // http://aphex.home.ml.org UnOfficial Nothing Records // http://destruction.home.ml.org

I have an original copy of this show that a guy from the downunder made for me. It was taped from the radio show "Triple J" with something like "Live from the wireless..." I don't know who made the mp3 (which I've heard BTW). Hope that this answers some of your questions. Rusty

Hey, to whoever it was that asked, the Big Day Out was an Australian music festival that was really bloody good but unfortunatley has stopped running due to the organisers not wanting to be bothered with it any more. The performance would have been from 1996, though my internet connection is a bit slow, so I haven't heard the performance, so I couldn't tell you if it was the Melbourne one (Which I was at :-) ) or not. The idea of the BDO was to offer a wide variety of music - they usually had heaps of dance acts in a huge shed and rock bands outside. Ran for six years. Tintin

Not really true. The event lost its venue in Sydney which was bought out by the Murdoch/Fox bandwagon. They tried to do a dance-only event called Starbait this year but lost their new venue and their headline acts just at the crucial 'continue or withdraw completely' point. Oh, OK... not the line we we fed here about the BDO... although it was reported that the equal cause for the decline of Starbait was poor ticket sales. Shouldn't have tried to fix what aint broke... Tintin

Just to finally clear this all up and put it to rest. I was probably that guy. What it is, is 30 mins of Aphex Twin's 45 min live performance at the Big Day Out in Sydney Jan 97, played on the radio station "Triple J" on their weekly "Live At The Wireless" segment a month or two after the BDO. I don't exactly know who made the mp3, but I have my suspicions and many thanks to him for it. I was there when he played live and posted a review of his gig to the list, so anyone interested can read about it in the archives. So there you go... Regards, John
