Could somebody briefly review V/A "In Memoriam Gilles Deleuze" compilation on Mille Plateaux? I remember somebody talking on the list about it when it came out, but didn't exactly pay attention at the time... The artists lineup looks very promising, but how about the actual quality of the release? thanks, Sergey np: sluts'n'strings & 909 "carrera"

In other words, it's 2 CDs of predictable "experimental" stuff. ;) It's mainly cold and beatless, with some beaty tracks from the techno heads (Ink, Burger, Voegel). I can't think of much to say without having the CD here to refer to, but I would recommend it if the majority of the artists take your fancy. None of the ones I already liked let me down, except possibly Mike Ink. :zoviet france: and Chris and Cosey, in particular, exceeded my expectations by a mile. Really strong drone tracks from both of them. The Mouse on Mars and Christian Voegel tracks are the only ones I've heard elsewhere - from memory, MoM's track is '1001' off 'Instruementals' and Voegel's is 'Gargantuan Tautological Machinery' off one of his Mille Plateaux CDs.
