Hmmm, well, the fact that coldcut are political I think are one of their
strengths... particularilly in the way they go about it, which, unlike
Consolidated (which were appropriate in their time... regan/bush etc...
eek!) doesn't involve excessive ranting. And well, as for clear cutting,
I'm sure the Kirklan Warbler did just fine pre lumber co's. Not to
mention the _many_ other species that don't "benifit" from clearcutting
like the Warbler... Living, not to mention treeplanting, in british
columbia's let me see a lot of it first hand. Driving through 60 miles
of clear cuts doesn't lend one to think that the logging co's are acting
with a sence of enviromental responsibility. I think rape and pillage
would be more appropriate. In the west we're _starting_ to realise that
there are smarter ways to go about logging, which the Scandinavian
countries have already demonstrated, however, a lot of the multinationals
have now moved into 3rd world countries such as Indonesia, not to mention
Russia, and are clearcutting everything in sight...
anyways, I'll stop ranting
later
