Probably stating the obvious to many of you but the man himself is on the 313 list also run for the great machine (hyperreal). ObIDM: I just ordered 'Dead Cities' cd + book and 'My Kingdom' ep from England so I hope to have these in my hands in the next few weeks. In the meantime to ease my suffering i've got uni exams coming up. Anyhow Mike from PastelBlue mentioned that 'Dead Cities' English release date is now 4/11... can anybody confirm this? Regards, John

Nope, I saw it in the shop yesterday. Didn't buy it though. Instead I picked up the second part of Remit Recaps, with a couple of excellent jungly tracks and another slice of genius from Matt 'I can do no wrong' Herbert. Also got Above the Law compilation from Reinforced records which has the most wonderful intricate hardstep/darkside Drum'n'Bass (though it does come in a stupid box which doesn't fit in my record shelf Grrrrr. :) Anyway buy it - its wicked. . Morgan Geist: The Driving Memories cd/2x12" (Clear) Man of the moment Morgan Geist with his first full-length release. Ten tracks of quirky lo-fi laid-back electro-house that stylistically fit in well with the rest of the Clear catalog. Imagine Dr Rockit with a house flare and you'll know what to expect from this release. Standout tracks are This Too Shall Pass, Highway Hypnosis and Detoured for their "driving" groove and smooth funky "breaks" (Sorry, had to say that). Both Clear fans and admirers of Morgan's previous works will be delighted with this release. 9/10 -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

Really, really sweet house flavoured electro-techno. Didn't grab me right away, but second listen hooked me, and since then (about two weeks ago), I've listened to it almost daily which is rare considering the volume of music I have incoming on a regular basis. Strongly recommended! Greg

Here are the others worth getting: . Morgan Geist: Quadrilocular 12" (Metamorphic/METOG150) . Morgan Geist: Etymon 12" (Metamorphic/METOG270) . Morgan Geist: Premise 12" (Environ/ENV001) . Morgan Geist: Remnants 12" (Environ/ENV002) . The Hydronaut vs. Morgan Geist: Deep In The Feeling 12" (Aquarhythms) . Morgan Geist: Rotating Retrospective 12" (Fragmented/FMD001) I would suggest getting the two environ 12"s because there are several tracks on each of them that aren't on the recent Morgan Geist collection on Phono.

Yes, if you dig gritty dubby muted techno & ambience then you must get all the basic channel & chain reaction releases. For starters get: . Basic Channel comp cd (Basic Channel) . Maurizio comp cd (M) . Porter Ricks: Biokinetiks cd (Chain Reaction) . Monolake: Hong Kong cd (Chain Reaction) . Decay Product v/a comp cd (Chain Reaction) . Vainqueur: Elevations cd (Chain Reaction) -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

the "linking tunnel" 12" on clear is pretty good as well...someone digs their herbie hancock (or at least reload/GC)

snatch up the substance cd comp when it hits - its some of the best BCP methinks (on the thump thump whump tip) is it just me or does post-biokenetiks porter ricks well, you know....suck? i heard the thomas koner remix album for E.A.R. yesterday...pretty good - there was a solo TK album i heard as well which reminded me of zauberberg by gas but i forget the name or label blah blah blah blah j

linking tunnel is good but both of those tracks are on the Driving Memoirs lp so there is really no reason to get that one if you have the album.

Biokinetiks suck? I totally disagree. It's one of the best chain reaction cd second only to the monolake cd. If i had to pick the weakest chain reaction cd i would have to say that the vainqueur cd is my least favorite although still good.

Yes both the Koner Experiments and Permafrost are both good but neither are very beat-friendly. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

calm down, Lance :-) ... he meant that their material released after biokenetiks album suck... I think, you told me that... You said if I remember that their newer material is much weaker than older stuff. considering Basic Channel, I have only Basic Channel CD comp. and Maurizio M4.5 12" . I would like to order just one more (for now) BC releated CD. What is the best in your opinion, Lance, Teddy, anyone ? bye rob
