Mapod is by far the best release I have heard on Dot. Even though everyone loves Dot and would probably tell you otherwise, I would recommend listening before purchasing other releases. Most of their catalog is much more conceptual than Mapod. Mapod is very successful as a cohesive album but a lot of Dot releases sound like sketches. I heard Mapod before listening to other Dot releases and I was very disappointed in the output of the label. I agree that they are important innovators but they don't have a catalog of consistently enjoyable music. wells wrote:

the best Dot release imo is Argonort "Mingus EP" (dot1208). I cannot wait for their full length on Dot which will be released later this year... while we are on Dot, is Endlessism CD comp out yet ? I think, it will feature Argonort's remix of Bullitnuts, this is brilliant... can't wait. bye rob

No way!!! Quant's "Breaking and Entering" is the best, funkiest thing I heard since George Clinton and the P-Funk era of releases. And a delicious hab remix to boot. Makes the booty shake on the dance floor. Rusty
