I may close the storefront -- the webstore will DEFINITELY STAY OPEN. At this point the fate of the Denver storefront is under negotiation. I have three potential buyers and if one of them comes up with the cash, I will continue to work with them to ensure uninterupted service.

i don't understand why you have to take such a defensive tone on this. i think it's a pretty reasonable question for someone to ask, especially if the storefront has all those signs and the web site was inaccessible (at the time - it would seem strange to me, too). i dunno... just came across as Not Too Nice, coming from someone for whom customer happiness should be Job Number One. alan.

reasonable for someone to ASK ME before announcing that I am out of business. The storefront DID NOT have a Going Out of Business sign posted --- that was an unsubstantiated rumor that Denise could have easily checked. The web site works fine -- I get 200 hits per day and she is the only one who has indicated that she has had any problem accessing the site. Given that I am working 12 hours a day trying ot keep my business going after my partner bailed without notice, I don't appreciate having someone tell my customers that I'm out of business.

I was told that SYNAPTIC wasn't answering emails, which is another added factor. I wasn't about to post THAT...but now, those of you that have had no-reply from SYNAPTIC can step forward if you wish... but I won't do it for ya. So... you are on-line most of the day, and you don't reply to customers? O.K. whatever! Denise, I have no idea where you get your information. I am the only one running this store at this point and I NEVER had a Going Out of Business Sign posted on my store. Given that you live 2000 miles away from my store, I would really like to know how it is that you are so sure that there was one when I'm here every day and have never seen one. Your attempts to make my customers believe that I am goingout of business are not appreciated.

It is not a sinking ship -- I have three serious buyout offers that I am considering. While it is no one's business why I have decided to sell, I guess you've made it necessary to talk about it. I built this business for Ben -- he chose to leave and so I choose to move on to other things -- though I will very likely continue to run the web business.

Again, you are spreading unsubstantiated rumors. Yes, I have had trouble running both the storefront and the web business by myself. Ben left one week ago. In that time, 10-15 of my customers have offered to help me get the orders in and respond to web customers. I regret the brief lag in responding to some of my web customers, but I hardly think that a brief delay signals failure of a business. Frankly, I think that recovering in one week from the loss of my buyer is pretty good. Rick Synaptic Records 608 S. ya know... if you are going to post to IDM incomplete and out of context emails, then my thoughts about you being good guy have changed. I told people in private emails that SYNAPTIC isn't going to dis, and that you shouldn't worry. I didn't say anything that wasn't true to my knowledge. you say the store didn't have an "going out of business" sign... but a "for lease" sign, but YOU ARE going out of business. you are right, I don't live there... but I know a few people that do, and that's what they said. WHY would they lie? you have explained yourself eloquently now... so I think you can stop sending me nasty emails and stop blaming me for your failing business. 1. signs at storefront 2. unable to access site at the time 3. hadn't sent out orders to people i know 4. hadn't replied to any of the emails to explain your trouble with your partner np: taps ----------------------------------------------------------------- Karaoke Kalk visual discography http://members.aol.com/volumunits/karaoke_kalk.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- In a message dated 02/14/98 11:37:10 AM, synaptic@eazy.net wrote:

ok - this is my last post on this issue (I'm sure everyone will be relieved). For the last time, I am considering selling THE STOREFRONT. I will continue to run the web store as I always have. So, as far as anyone on the web is concerned, I am not going out of business. And even if I was also selling the web business, I don't think most people consider a change of ownership an indication that a STORE is going out of business. I have indicated that, whatever happens, I will continue to work with the new owners to ensure uninterupted service. Rick Synaptic Records 608 S. This is such a ridiculous arguement. It is clearly unreasonable to post to a public forum a question which should have been asked privately, first. It would have been just as easy. With many things, it doesn't matter, but who's going to send their credit card number to a company that someone claims is going under?

Here are few forwarded messages from our man, who is watching us from beyond now ;-) can you guys take your private conversation off list? PLEASE! aran please send your witty (?) comments of no substance directly to the person you are responding to and not to the entire IDM mailing list thank you aran Hi, Just a reminder to ppl to check their headers before sending mail. It seems alot of stuff was posted to the list which really could have just been posed to the individual. Thanks! aran Lets try and keep the topic at hand to "music". If ppl wish to carry on in private, feel free. Thanks, Aran IDM-Owner
